Good extra-curricularDec 02 2008Language - French/Spanish/etc.
Good extra-curricular activities (music/theatre/unique artsy things), as well as good SAT scores. If you have a high SAT score, your GPA might not have to be as high, because they are most likely looking for unique and well rounded students to excel in music and study abroad experiences.
SAT: 1310 Male
Assuming you want to go to CNUSep 25 2008Political Science
Assuming you want to go to CNU... they love numbers. Numbers are their bread and butter; they plaster them all over informational booklets and the website like trophies.

Get over a 3.4 GPA, get a solid SAT (1220+) and combine it with good essays talking about the "Welcoming campus environment, sense of community, and your commitment to service" and you'll get in, no doubt.
Male

Took theNov 12 2007Psychology
Took the SAT twice, achieved an average/above average score, maintained a strong senior year course load and graduated with a 3.6gpa. I was in NHS and the Future Educators Association.
SAT: 1100 Female
I was a borderline admit: I had terrible gradesJul 16 2007Political Science
I was a borderline admit: I had terrible grades in high school but good standardized test scores with a difficult courseload (14 weighted classes all 4 years of high school; 5 AP classes, scores of 3 or better on all of them). My courseload and personal attention to the application, as well as listing them as my first choice got me in.
The requirements are going up each yearFeb 03 2007History/Histories (art history/etc.)
The requirements are going up each year. My 3.2 GPA and a 1310 SAT was overkill at the time, but CNU is now trying to improve its image. It is starting to become common for those with 3.5 high school GPAs to be denied. However, the transfer requirements from Community College are still quite low.
ACT: 27 SAT: 1310 Male
